Gang of Four are widely considered one of the leading bands of the late 70s/early 80s post-punk movement. The Leeds foursome are known for their visceral energy of punk with elements of disco, funk, dub and reggae thrown in. Their 1979 debut album, Entertainment!, was ranked as the fifth greatest punk album of all time and made it onto the Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.
During the group's extensive career they have put out nine studio albums, the most recent of which What Happens Next, came out in 2015. Major hits include: 'Is It Love', 'No Great Men', 'We Live As We Dream, Alone' and 'Outside the Trains Don't Run on Time'.
The band's lineup has fluctuated over the years and today, original member and guitarist Andy Gill remains. The tour kick starts on Fri 5 Oct at 100 Club in London, calling at Manchester, Paisley and Nottingham before finishing on Sun 18 Nov with a second night at The Ruby Lounge in Manchester.
