SECC: Clyde Auditorium
The massive -- if rather hangar-like -- Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (known to most as the SECC) is one of the largest and best such facility in Scotland. It's the place to come for large exhibitions such as the Scottish Ideal Home exhibition or Boat Show, as well as gigs by Pavarotti, Elton John or the Kaiser Chiefs. While the main hall can accommodate 10,000, it's the 3000-seater Clyde Auditorium which is the more distinctive venue. Designed by Foster & Partners, and colloquially known as the 'Armadillo', it's one of the symbols of the regeneration of Clydeside and an icon for Glasgow.
