WORST CLUB EVER - THE STAFF ARE INCREDIBLY RUDE, DON'T GO HERE

My friends and I always go to The Hive. Its the best place to go, because its not full of posers there to 'be seen'. The drinks are always cheap and the barstaff are really nice. The bouncers sometimes do get a bit agressive when they tell you to move away from the enterence inside, because you cant move any further in because of the amount of people. But they do get rid of the troublemakers quickly. I've met loads of decent people here.

Loud, crowded, mucky, sweaty - the Hive is without a doubt not the place to be if you're after a quiet drink with a friend or two. But if you're after going to a nightclub in Edinburgh with a few mates, and want the place with the best music, the best crowds and the best atmosphere on the dancefloor then you're in the right place.

While the club may not seem like it with its modest size and questionable cleanliness, it will without a doubt be the best night out that you have in the city. And with cheap drinks and free entry before 11 on most nights, you'll find yourself ending up here on many a night out.

The Hive is a brilliant club that you just can't help going back to! The staff are lovely and very welcoming. The music is great and offers something for everyone :) Student friendly and full of lovely folk!

Don't go near this place. i was there recently and it was full of schoolchildren. It was hot, stinking and dirty. The bar staff were rude, security poor and someone tried to pick a fight with me in the toilets.

If you want a posh night out with lots of talking and polite chat then avoid with a barge pole. But if you're looking for a fantasticly cheap night out at a club filled with people just wanting a good laugh then this is the place to be, drinks are always cheap, staff are always friendly and bouncers are always patient and willing to have a laugh though will immediately throw out troublemakers. Ive tried other clubs but this is the only one i properly enjoy

The Hive is Awesome!!!!!! they always play goood music, the staff and bouncers are reallly nice, its really the only place i go since i turned 18 :D

Always a good time at the Hive. Cheap drinks, great events, and free entry before 11. And being a student, what more could you ask for? Definetly a recommendation to anyone wanting a cracking night out.

Most people I know, if given a choice of where to go on a night out in Edinburgh, will choose The Hive. Not only is it cheap, with free entry most nights and drinks from £1/£1.50, it's in a good location, plays a wide variety of music, and the atmosphere is always great.
The only thing I would fault it on, and I know I'm not alone in this, is how busy it gets at the weekends - but to be honest, go to any club on a Friday or Saturday night and it's more than likely to be jam-packed, so this isn't really specific to The Hive.

The Hive is definitely the cheapest, liveliest place to go on fridays and saturdays, it's close enough to all uni accommodation to get there cheaply and with free entry before eleven and cheap drinks you don't have to spend very much to have a good time!

The Hive offers club nights that are a bit different from the other bog standard night clubs in Edinburgh. Brilliant themed nights, headphones discos and even the normal nights are excellent. Having two rooms means that the music policy tends to have something for everyone. Drinks prices are really good, unlike most other clubs the only cheap spirit isn't vodka. Rum, whisky etc are all well priced and the dedicated cocktail bar offers pitchers of.cocktails. To top it all off hive has friendly staff inside and on the door. Favourite club in Edinburgh.

The Hive is one of my favourite clubs in Edinburgh. It has cheap drinks, including the most delicious "Cheeky Vodka" pitcher which is AMAZING! I would definitely suggest checking it out if you have not yet done so :)

the hive get a 5 star rating from me as theres a night for everyone cover everythind from rock music to metal. They have great staff everyone is friendly. they also do themes nights which a fab. all in all great music great fun

Hive is great, drinks and entry are cheaper than most clubs in Edinburgh . It's open 7 days a week so everyone is bound to find a something they like. Its definetly the best value club in Edinburgh. Staff are friendly, you never have to wait long for a drink and the music is always good. Great for students with no money!

Definitely my favourite club in Edinburgh!! Every night out ends here, even my friends in Glasgow come through for a Hive night! Super cheap and great music, what more could you ask for?!

the hive is literally the best thing in my life. the cheap drinks, amazing tunes and banter means i go everyweek. the fancy dress events are always slamming and the staff are lovely. defs go there. soooo nice to get away from the george street world too.

The Hive offers the best variety in club nights of anywhere in Edinburgh. There is almost certainly something for everyone at least one night a week, and with it being open 7 days a week you can't really go wrong. The music in the Hive is always music which the clubbers are familiar with and makes for a great night of dancing or just socialising to some good tunes. Bar staff are alwasy very friendly and the drink prices are fantastic too with a wide range of available spirits and draughts. The cocktail bar offers some of the nicest and strongest cocktails you're ever likely to come across and always makes for an interesting night. The Hive is fantastic.

The hive is definately my fave place. It has VERY reasonable drinks prices, and entry is never expensive. The staff are really friendly, and it's a good place to go for an organised night out or a last minute drink. The Hive should definately be included in any night out in Edinburgh. Every night is different so there is definately a night for everyone.

I practically live at The Hive, and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. It's such a brilliant place for a night out because it's fully been created with their customers in mind. We all have a say in what happens via the Facebook and I cannot fault the staff at all- they're all so passionate about the place!
Whether you're looking to chill out with your friends, or dance until your legs fall off, you're guaranteed a great night out, everytime. Each night has a different style of music so you're bound to find something you like, and the DJs are fabulous at getting the crowds jumping!
There are three bars, with a large variety of affordable drinks and lovely bartenders, dedicated floor staff keeping the place free of glasses/any broken glass, and the door staff are committed to keeping the place safe and free of underagers.
All in all it's a wonderful place to be: an exquisite hole in the wall where you're free to enjoy yourself- and I mean that with the highest of compliments. I LOVE IT. ♥

I also like that they ID people at the door which makes it harder for under-aged people to get in.

I have been going to The Hive since the day it opened, and have to say that it is one of the best Edinburgh clubs for a fun filled night out. The atmosphere is always electric and both dance floors are usual bouncing. The main attractions of the hive are its cheap drink deals (ideal for students), the music always keeps people dancing and the bar staff are always friendly (even on really busy nights). My work mates and I usually end up in the hive after we shut the pub so we are there about 5 nights a week :D

Never a dull night in the hive.
As a regular I spend almost every Tuesday and Friday night in this place, and even when we try to have a night away we always end up back here.

They have a club night for everyone, cheap drinks, good staff, good djs what more can you ask for?
It's definitely the place to go in Edinburgh no matter what night of the week.

Hive is quite easily the premier club in edinburgh for a good dance and a cheap night out! The choice of 2 dancefloors and the consequent choice of music is amazing, the DJ's and bar staff are also pretty amazing!

HIVE is the place to go if you are looking for a good dance with the guaranteed attendance of happy-go-lucky clubbers, cheap (but good) drinks and great music!

I love hive. the place may be a bit murky but the student priced drinks from monday to sunday is brilliant. The different music genres throughout the week is awesome aswell.

I love the hive! I've been going for just under 2 years and apart from getting slightly busier it hasn't changed that much which is a good thing. The theme nights are awesome. Most of the staff are really friendly and the prices are good. Whenever people ask me where's good to go in Edinburgh I always recommend the hive. :)

The hive is a great venue filled with all different types of people. The staff are always very friendly and cheery. Music is better than in any other club I have been to due to the amazing Djs. Definatly reccomend it to anyone wanting a fun filled evening.

This is a great club, unique because it has such a nice atmosphere. The people that go are great and the staff work really hard to maintain the standard on offer. A fun night out if in need of somewhere to go in Edinburgh.

My flatmates and I absolutely LOVE the Hive!! We have epic nights every time we go and wednesday's are our favourite, free entry before 11 and £1 a drink, you can't go wrong! AMAZING tunes! Anyone who says it's rubbish is either old or bitter because they didn't pull ;)

I love hive. You get what you pay for. The security are great if you have a problem. The drinks are cheap. The Dj's are great. The staff are lovely. It does get hot though so be warned the less clothes you wear the better :P

A lot of people have commented on the security at Hive - gotta say I totally disagree, in my experience the bouncers there are friendly and are just doing their job in keeping the drunken idiots out!

Nasty bit over - I absolutely love the Hive! Been going there since I moved to Edinburgh 5 years ago, the music is amazing, the drinks are cheap and the staff are dead friendly. Yeah its a bit small and can get busy but that just shows how popular it is!

In a city which a few years back used to boast amazing nightlife and something to suit everyone, The Hive is now THE only place to to go. Open 7 nights a week with free entry almost every night (and cheap entry even when they charge), amazing theme nights, awesome drink promotions, a fab crowd and excellent DJs all make it THE place to be on any given night. Two dancefloors, three bars and music to suit everyone. Cheap and cheerful. You really can't argue with that.

i've been going to the hive regularly for years. its a relaxed place with good music and good drinks promos. its always a great night out. everyone's friendly and they have great theme nights to mix things up

Thought we would try this place for a change on Saturday and wont be back in a hurry... arrived, paid to get in (group of 9 mixed male and female) went into the club and got barked at by a Neanderthal bouncer to 'go to the bar' even though i was just on my way to the loo.... eventually fought through a crowd to get to the bar where everyone was dripping wet with sweat because the air-conditioning was broken. Ordered our drinks .... tiny little glasses and nasty cheap brands....
Went outside as the heat was just stifling and sat on the steps across the road from the club to have a ciggy only to be approached by the door staff and told to get inside the club and re-exit to their designated and barricaded smoking area, which was jam packed with people trying to escape the heat of the club. When i explained that i was out in the street because the smoking area was full i was told that if i didn't get inside the club 'NOW' i wouldn't be allowed back in. As someone familiar with SIA procedure and licensing laws i was surprised to be accosted by the Door man in a public street not associated with the property and asked him why he felt that he thought he could control people that had left his premises... his response was quite surprising and rude and in response i asked for the name of his security company (persevere security)to make a formal complaint . At this point i was told that i was just a 'little person' and that i had 'no rights' and was to get back into his club immediately.... i refused and left the area... and will not be back at the Hive.... perhaps it should be re-named the Hole

The Hive is FANTASTIC. Definately the best place to go if you appreciate good music. It's a good balance of tunes without being cheeeeeesy. Defo recommend it! Saturday nights are the most fun.

hive is the worst club, full of belters avoid it at all costs

This club is awful and filled to the brim with the rudest clubbers in Edinburgh. No security inside to keep an eye on things. It's a shame because the music was great.
