Edinburgh Printmakers

Tucked away in Union Street towards the top of Leith Walk, Edinburgh Printmakers was established in 1967 as the first open-access studio in Britain dedicated to the promotion of contemporary printmaking. The studio is well-equipped, with facilities for etching, lithography, screenprinting and relief printing, as well as dark room and digital services. It offers evening and weekend classes for newcomers to try out the various processes. The gallery shows contemporary work usually created in the studio, complemented by exhibitions of works by artists such as David Hockney, Matisse and Picasso and contemporary American prints by such artists as Andy Warhol and Jim Dine.
