I work at the o2 arena and was shocked to receive this kind of treatment.. From being ushered aggressively to the bar, to the flippant way the member of staff had to o pen the locked door to the 'garden' area with a huff and a puff.
Believe you me when I say the whole place was EMPTY. All of the tables bar 2 including the upstairs were vacant. After ordering a few drinks and drinking outside we decided to order nachos. When ordering the Nacho's the waitress told us that we had to eat them outside (by this point it was gone 9, and it was freeing cold as the location is next to the Thames) we then suggested that we wanted to eat inside in the vacant bar area due to the weather and the emptiness, to which she aggressively explained in the most patronizing way that we ordered a 'BAR snack... that means you have to eat it at the BAR... or OUTSIDE!' to clarify the bar is a good 4 and a half foot, and there are no stools. My friend then asked to speak to the manager, and then she quickly changed her attitude and begrudgingly let us sit in the empty dining area.
She then had a waitress come over to take our order who clearly knew what had just happened and tried to make us feel even more uncomfortable. 'Oh so you want to order the BAR SNACK and eat it here?' like we had just asked the most outrageous thing she had ever heard.
The table next but one (the only other customers in the place) ordered food, and the petulant waitress came over with chips and dips, and while looking at us said 'Here's some COMPLIMENTARY salsa and tortilla chips as YOU are PAYING customers' the whole time making eye contact with us. It was outrageous.
when they arrived they were burnt with no salsa and very little other ingredients. In my opinion they had had a word with the chef, because the next table down's food looked somewhat ok, and not like it had been delivered from the depths of hell.
We did not complain because the entire staff seemed so inept that it almost seemed pointless.
Even on leaving the waitress and barmaid were shouting 'Bye! We really hope you come back!' in the most patronizing aggressive voice I've ever heard. They then burst into forced angry laughter. By this point we were leaving and will never go back.
It was an embarrassing experience for me and my guest and I have never seen customer service so aggressive and high school like in my entire life.
please save your money and go to one of the other restaurants in the o2 that have great friendly customer service.

This restaurant is absolutely awful! I have been there three times and it's the last. Nevermind the cocktails, just asking for a bottle of wine seems like a massive effort from the barstaff. The service is shocking! It's in such a prime location (right outside the 02 Arena) and it's no wonder why it never ever seems busy. The last time I went,I ordered Nachos. The staff told me that I had to eat my Nachos outside (in the cold) as it was considered a bar snack and so could not sit in the "dining area"
I of course refused to either stand at the bar or sit outside. These were the choices given to me (by some stroppy barmaid) and they quickly changed their tune when I said I wanted to speak to the manager. I was treated like this after I had bought a bottle of wine and two cocktails. We were paying customers!
I was with a friend and all we wanted was to enjoy our evening. Instead we were treated as though eating nachos inside was a huge inconvenience. Let it be known that the "dining area" was completely empty and they still wanted to argue the fact that I couldn't sit there.
When the nachos arrived (no doubt they spat in the food - I wouldn't put it past them) - the tortilla chips were burnt and there was only a fraction of cheese, sour cream, etc thrown on the side. I had paid £10 for burnt tortilla chips. This is supposed to be a Mexican restaurant? I've had better nachos in English pubs!
EVERYTHING about this place reeks of apathy! From the staff,to the food,to the treatment of paying customers. Anywhere else in the world a "restaurant" like this would be shut down, and with good reason!
