Had a lovely dinner at the Mains food was good and so was the service. Staff were polite and helpful. Place had a nice homely feel, have read reviews that say the service was slow however it felt steadily paced and relaxing I liked that we were not rushed out the door.
The food was not the cheapest I've had but you can tell that it's all homemade, well worth the wait I'd say.
The toilets are a bit dated but the smell fresh and were clean.
We will definitely be paying them another visit.

This place serves the worst pub grub ever. Over cooked or reheated, just terrible food. Very pricey too. No atmosphere either, because there is no one else there.

We had a very enjoyable meal. Service could not have been any better - there when you needed it, space when you didn't. Food was lovely - fabulous starters (Spear & shrooms and pork/black pudding scotch egg), great steak super-tender rare and tasty. Only slight improvement would be - Some bread before your meal would be nice, some good restaurants we've been to in the past do it and its a nice way to start your meal without having to scoff your starter down cos your starvin. Steak was also served with a tasty dianne sauce. Simple but very good. The cheapest red by the glass was excellent.... No space for desert, but home-made shortbread was excellent - waitress snaffled us 4 extra for the journey home! Will definitely go back - was only 50 quid for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 large glasses of wine.

Had a meal there last night. My son had the Scotch Egg to start, well over cooked or reheated (awful)
My husband had the Moules Marinier to start which was nice.
I had the roast beef dinner, one of the specials (I have done better myself and I'm no chef) I did ask for the well done part of the roast, the meat was tough, and you really had to cut through. The yorkies certainly were not freshly made, must have been reheated or in the micro. The other mains were Monkfish Scampi (which was rather dry and the chips over cooked) and the Buffalo Chicken, (over cooked chips also)
The three desserts were fine.
At the end of the main course the waitress asked how our meal was. I told her I was disappointed with the beef and yorkies, on her return (after a word with the chef) she said the beef was tough because I had asked for the well done part. SO IT WAS MY FAULT! Really.
Our bill for food £67.19. Which I don't grudge, if I can walk out and say, well that was worth every penny.
Sorry Mains we will vote with our feet and won't be back.
