As Hawke and Hunter, this was one of Edinburgh's A-list after-hours drinking spots. It's now rebranded as Twelve Picardy Place, and in truth not much else has changed. In December 2012 the boutique hotel, bar and lounge reopened with ten contemporary rooms, a cocktail bar, wine vault and terrace. The presence of Steak restaurant adds oomph to the venue, and the sprawling outdoor sofas of the Secret Garden offer chill-out potential in all seasons. There's a boutique hotel in the upper reaches and the sizeable Green Room, an attractive events space.
