Corstorphine Dovecot
In the western area of Edinburgh stands a large, circular ‘beehive’ dovecot, complete with nesting boxes, in a good state of preservation. The building is likely to have stood alongside a now long-gone castle built in the 14th century, and nested thousands of doves, which were considered an important food source at the time.
