Eating & Drinking Guide

The 2012 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).

This review is taken from the 2011 edition.

An intriguing new arrival moored to the harbour wall in Tarbert, Loch Fyne, this is a large Dutch barge with herbs and lettuce growing in containers on deck and converted below into a surprisingly spacious, modern looking tapas café. Dishes are small, simple and pleasantly unfussy, with seafood in the vanguard and some tasty vegetarian options to complement. No meat is served. Typical are three scallops fried in olive oil and garlic, local crab meat with oatcakes, surf clams marinière or a whole globe artichoke with dressing. Coffee and snacks are served through the day, and a short wine and beer list is available.
