When you don’t want to go out, but really fancy a curry, Shanaz could be your answer. Delivering within 3 miles of its Stockbridge base, Shanaz offers a fairly standard Indian/Bangladeshi menu, albeit with a few exclusives. Of these, Kingfisher chicken or lamb is mild to medium hot and particularly tasty with its fresh herbs and spices. Of the regular mainstays of British curry menus, chicken or lamb pasanda is deliciously creamy with plenty almondy sauce. For the hot and spicy palate, Jalfrezi is probably the best choice, its meat cooked with green chillis, peppers, ginger and lots of fresh coriander. From the tandoor come the predictable chicken tikka, lamb or prawn kebabs or a special mixed grill which combines pretty much the lot. Any of the above combined with sag aloo (potato/spinach), chana masala (chickpeas), rice and a crisply-baked nan should satisfy even the most acute curry craving.
