Melanie Jones’ speciality food shop is located in Edinburgh’s west end, tucked in behind Charlotte Square. With its straightforward layout and old dressers and tables it has the feel of an old-fashioned grocer, though the range of food stocked is certainly tuned-in to interesting foods, including chocolates from Coco of Bruntsfield, Tea Pigs teas, fresh East Lothian vegetables and Linda Dick chickens. A house speciality are ready-to-cook grab bags: these contain a recipe along with all the ingredients required to cook yourself a delicious meal at home. Regular tastings also take place.
