Melvyn and Isobel Baird’s wine and spirit merchant sits two miles outside the Borders village of Broughton. It complements its selection of wines from Europe and the New World with various specialities, including organic and biodynamic wines. There are even vegan wines which do not use the conventional animal-based filters in the 'fining' process of removing sediment. Visitors are encouraged to taste the wines on offer; there’s also provision for formal tastings at a dedicated venue. With the chance to sample wines while taking in the surrounding countryside, Bairds is a destination in itself.
