Ramsay of Carluke has been a local family butcher for over 150 years. Using only farm-assured outdoor free-range pigs, they produce traditional Ayrshire bacon, home-cured in large vats of old-fashioned pickle. After curing, the sides are left to mature before being divided into traditional Ayrshire cuts, after which much of the bacon is then slowly smoked in their own smokehouse. They produce a range of award-winning sausages, puddings, haggis and cooked hams using old family recipes. Mail order available.
