Brochel Wood
Brochel wood is a planted, conifer forest. It is being harvested at the moment. This area will not be replanted with conifer trees but will be encouraged to regenerate with native, broadleaved trees. There are low-key walks from here. One goes to Brochel Castle. The other is a long-distance walk to the clearance village of Screapadal and continues to the south of the island. The views over the sea to Applecross are spectacular.
