A short walk from Waverley Station, Richard and Florence Ingleby’s gallery is at the forefront of the Edinburgh contemporary arts scene. Having opened on this site in 2008, the bright and airy commercial gallery exhibits painting, sculpture and photography by internationally renowned artists as well as introducing those at an earlier stage in their careers. It represents artists including the late Ian Hamilton Finlay, Callum Innes, Francesca Woodman and Peter Liversidge. It also shows work by other artists and has given an impressive roster of names the chance to partake in the Billboard for Edinburgh public art project in which one, usually text-based, piece is exhibited on a hoarding on the side of the building.
