University of Glasgow

The University of Glasgow celebrated its 550th year in 2001 and the campus has more listed buildings than any other in the UK. As well as the Neo-Gothic main building with its skyline-defining spire and open quadrangles, there's the circular Reading Room from the 1930s and the G12 converted cinema and theatre. The visitor centre and café are situated just inside the north front of the main building and between May and September you can go up the tower on Friday at 2pm for great views out across the West End.
