Brown's Gallery

For culture vultures, a trip to Tain is a must. Brown's Gallery is the north's leading showcase for contemporary artists including John Byrne, Neil MacPherson, John Bellany and Alan MacDonald. The overflowing gallery, situated on the town's Castlebrae opposite the museum, also houses sculpture and fine art photography. Its success in recent years has demanded an extension next door into a purpose-built space. It's well worth a visit even if you've left the cheque book at home.
