Loch Insh WatersportsReport -
For watersports I would thoroughly recommend Loch Insch as the activities are great for families and the restaurant very good.
As for the chalets, we paid £1000 for a week. For this I would have expected much much more than we received. This does not include electricity for which we were subsequently charged £33. For this price I would also have expected a washing machine. I was told that there was an onsite laundry for guests. Not quit true, there are laundry facilities but these belong to house keeping and guests can only use them after 2pm. When I inspected the facilities I discovered that only 1 washing machine was available.
The chalet itself was clean tidy but rather basic and there was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom.
We also paid £100 as a deposite, £70 of which was subsequently retained my Loch Insch. I was given a list of misdemeanours which as far as I am concerned are not true, however whether they are or not is not the point, the point is I am unable to defend myself as I was not made aware of this until 2 weeks later when I only recieved a small part of my my deposit back.
I feel that this method of security deposit along with the lack of laundry facilities along with the cost of the electricity should be more widely advertised.
I would urge anyone staying there to ask for their deposit back before they leave thus giving themselves ample opportunity to discuss any issues there and then.
