Blackfriars

A homely, versatile pub of all trades, Blackfriars is frequented by everybody, from office workers escaping for a quick pint after work, to students and older regulars stealing the best seats. Yet, any weekend the numbers will suddenly halve as the function room fills for a performance, live blues or jazz either day, alongside the best of the Ha Ha Comedy stable's stand-up roster on Saturday nights. Staff are affable, despite sometimes frustratingly deep queues at the bar, while the socially conscious punter can try the freshly prepared fair trade coffee.
