The stern, granite exterior of the House Spa may make the place look as if it is a venue for severe treatments of the bone-crunching and back pummelling variety but it hides a pamper palace offering soothing treatments such as detoxifying algae wraps; salt & oil body scrubs; massage; and hot stone therapy. Beauty treatments include tanning, facials, manicures and a whole map of waxing from Brazil to Hollywood. The fitness suite has cardio and resistance machines and there is a steam room, jacuzzi and sauna. Book in advance for day packages.

Recently a group of friends and myself were up in aberdeen for a girly weekend to celebrate my friends 30th birthday, we were welcomed at reception and felt right at home. We were all booked in for a Full body aromathrapy massage and facial, we were greeted by therapists that were professional and pleasent, we all thought that while enetering the treatment room it was a very calming and relaxing atmosphere, and the therapist's made us all feel at ease. I personally had a facial and after a full consultation I really felt confident in my therapist. I stated that i felt my skin was quite dry so she advised on what i could be doing for my skin ( something i had no clue about!!) The products used on my skin smelt lovely and the different feelings of products on my skin felt great. My friend had a great massge using again great products and she said she felt calm and relaxed after the therapist worked on her tension. We were told before arrival that we were able to bring bubbly with us and to have with our lunch on the day, which we did after all our treatments. Would recommend, and have already booked our next visit!! Cant't wait to go back!

This Beauty Salon based in the west end of Aberdeen give out the message to customers that they are first class and put the customer first.. well I can assure you this is not the case. I have used this salon before on a few occasions, for the beauty side not the hairdressing side, but I can assure you I will never venture back again. I dont mind paying an extortionate amount for 1st class treatment, but expect to get good service from an expensive salon. I want to share my experience with others and just to advise tobe careful when opting for the House Salon. I had purchased a Groupon Voucher online for The House, which is a discounted price for any business who wishes to advertise this way. I thought because I needed my hair done, this seemed like a great offer and quite reasonable for the House prices. I was looking forward to visiting. The voucher specifically tells you that you can have for £ 36 a semi-permanent or permanent hair colour of your choice with a hair treatment inclusive and also a Hair up. When I booked, I spoke with the girl who was doing my hair and asked before I paid if I could have a pleat braid done at the front of my hair, instead of the hair up as I have a long bob and having a hair up could not be done with my style, she agreed and said no problem. After deciding on what to be done with my hair, I was charged on top of my voucher £25 extra for her doing extra to my hair which I did not bank on ..... but paid it anyway to save any embarrassment within the salon, she also did not stick to what the voucher said I was entitled to, I did not receive my hair up (the pleated braid I was promised) and so when I got back home, I gave the salon a call just to ask if perhaps she may do my braid another day, as I understood she was busy but was quite astonished and upset by the response I received. I felt humiliated and embarrassed and left feeling a troublesome customer. She basically was unhappy with me calling to remind her of this, said she may be able to fit me in sometime, but would not be making a pacific appointment for me and it would have to be at a time she has a spare 10 minutes. She did not act like the same sweet bubbly person that came across in the salon before taking my money.... I was shocked and then contacted the owner of The House to explain my concerns, but needless to say the proprietor/owner who runs the family run business was not interested and made that quite clear, she said that the Girl who done my hair is only renting a seat from her and therefore cannot comment. I then asked her does that not have a knock on affect for your business overall if a customer is unhappy with this treatment, as it is in your salon and she was very dry and unhelpful. I will never return !! They want your money, only.
