Sheriffmuir Inn
Tell us more about this place.
The Sheriffmuir Inn is a whitewashed haven on a lonely moor that seems far away from its Central Belt spot on the map. Geoff and Moira Cook took over the 18th-century inn in May 2005, since when the restaurant has been steadily building a decent reputation for straightforward food from quality Scottish ingredients. Both the restaurant and the next-door bar strive for a tasteful balance of sleek furnishings and tartan populism, to which an open fire adds glow and crackle. The two en suite bedrooms, both suffused with rich colour, have views across the stark, gently undulating landscape.
