Riva
Riva is a lively Italian brasserie that serves coffee, lunch and dinner. The décor is classic-contemporary with high-backed chairs, honey-hued walls and views to the River Ness and castle. Refreshingly short (but ample) menus cover traditional bases -- antipasti, pasta, pesce, carne -- as well as the more inventive: fresh ravioli with dressed crabmeat or grilled fillet of seabass with tiger prawns, parmesan and potato gratin. Expect to pay around £8 for pasta, £12 for meat or fish in the evening and a reasonable £6.50 for two courses at lunch. Wines are also keenly priced. Sadly though, Ronaldo the singing waiter is no longer singing at Riva.
