The Forth Road Bridge
It might be a financial white elephant with an uncertain future but aesthetically it is stunning. At one and a half miles long the Forth Road Bridge was the longest in Europe when it opened in 1964. As well as crossing by car you can also go across on foot or on a bike using the well-maintained cycle path. Not only magnificent in it's own right, it also offers fantastic views of the adjacent Forth Rail Bridge. The two bridges compliment each other beautifully despite their 74-year age gap. Don't go to walk it on a windy day.
