The Clutha Vaults
Send us more details about this place.
Hosting live music five nights a week, predominantly acoustic and folky, but with a smattering of rock'n'roll, the Clutha Vaults is a dark, low-ceilinged, traditional Clydeside boozer that's relaxing of an afternoon but gets densely packed on weekend evenings. Students sit a little uneasily with the regulars but its got a tremendous atmosphere and sense of memorabilia chronicling the city's history -- from sketches of the busy 19th-century Broomielaw to concert posters running from the 50s to the present day. Don't be deterred by the unappealing exterior.

My partner and I found this wee pub a year ago and have been regulars ever since mainly at weekends to watch AMAZING bands and outstanding musicians do their thing. Contrary to some reviews on here, we find the service outstanding, bar staff are friendly outgoing and competent(not a joint in sight!). During busy nights you may have to wait to be served but I would put that down to the volume of custom rather than uninterested or stoned bar staff! The bar across the CLEAN TIDY beer garden is closed for refurb, sources say it will reopen as a bistro... As for the food at the moment there is a limited menu available 12-3 which is homemade and fresh, with the addition of a real coal fire to heat you up in the cold weather and some new faces behind the bar and on stage CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELVES!!!!

Totally the BEST 'wee' pub I have been to in ages! As a visitor to the city, I don't think I have been made to feel more welcome! The music was great, everyone up and dancing, friendly company and the staff were so engaged and switched on, dancing about with the customers and sharing conversations here and there - you can tell the regulars and adore the place and it's such appealing nature.
A definite 'must' for when visiting Glasgow i would say! Superb! 10/10
CHECK IT OUT! :-)

if you enjoy a wait this is the place to be i waited almost ten minutes to be served whilst the three members of staff chatted and ate crisps etc i also counted four or five customers waiting to be served on obtaining my drink i ventured out to the "beer garden" an untidy yard with some benches where i was almost overcome with the smell of "skunk" several of the regulars and one of the staff were passing a huge joint around whilst openly giggling about the fact someone had reported seeing a rat running around the "beer garden" then i saw a sign advertising a food menu! there are rat boxes clearly in sight almost everywhere yet there are still people eating outside a place to be avoided like the proverbial plague!

Was in last Saturday to see Cahoots, one of my favourite bands. The bar service was atrocious with three girls "serving". They all hid around the corner at the kitchen area and I counted 5 people waiting to be served while they all gabbed away with one of them eating a yoghurt during the girlie talk ! Will give the place a bye until they employ more responsive bar staff.

BEST THURSDAY NIGHT IN GLASGOW.....if you enjoy blues then this is the place.Open mic night Thursdays 9:30 onwards, the Eb Blues club is relaxed and entertaining as well as being a chance to hear one of the most underrated blues collaberations currently around. If you dont believe me then try it and see....pub 10/10,band 11/10(trust me;this one DOES "go up to eleven").Strongly reccomended.

Excellent Olde Worlde style Bar in the Merchant City, Glasgow City Centre. "LIVE" Music 5 Nights a week. Bar prices are a bit higher than other Pubs in the area but you are paying for the Entertainment.
There are 2 "Open Mic" nights per week + Live Bands on Friday, Saturday + Sunday. Frequented by some of Glasgow's best itinerant Troubadours. Why not take to the Stage and perform a few Songs yourself. Eveyone gets a Good Reception here for trying.
If you start to get bored here there are similar Music Pubs in the Area. Try a "Pub Crawl" and check out what's on; you can always return here, remembering our City Licensing Hours.
ENJOY !!!
