The Edinburgh International Climbing Arena

Ingeniously constructed within a former quarry and covering some 2500 square feet, this is the world's largest indoor climbing complex and a rock climber's paradise. Located eight miles west of central Edinburgh, it's not the easiest facility to reach by public transport (call for details). Features include teaching walls, vicious 50-foot high overhangs, a sheer 90-foot ascent and several 15-foot-high bouldering challenges. High above everything, 75 feet off the ground, there's an aerial assault course called the Aerial Assault. Vertigo sufferers may feel more relaxed in the adjacent café, outdoor shop or gym.
