Located in a granite townhouse towards the classy end of Union Street, The Albyn caters mostly for an over-30s crowd. The bar offers well-priced cocktails and live piano or jazz most nights. Snuggle into the restaurant’s brown leather booths as smartly uniformed staff deliver gastro-pub staples such as herb sausages, beer-battered haddock and vegetable risotto. Although it has a big bucks feel, The Albyn is excellent value -- you won’t need an oily’s wallet to have a great time.
