Yates's

We never had particularly good experiences going to Yates in Leicester Square, but last night we received a particularly appalling one.

We went there at around 8pm and we ordered some food and drinks from the menu - one of the items was a bacon, tomato and mozzarella panini. The waiter took our order and was nice at first. When we got the panini though it wasn't the one we asked for, it was a cheese and onion pickle one.

So we went back with the food and politely told him there had been a mistake with the order. The same waiter first said that that was the tomato and cheese one we ordered, then insisted that he hadn't heard us saying bacon. We accepted that it was noisy and mistakes occur so we just asked him if he could change it, and by that point he was getting irritated and had an attitude; he went to speak to another staff member (a tall guy who had a black shirt and tie and looked like a supervisor) and after the conversation he took the panini from us and without a word took it back in the kitchen.

We were a bit unsure as to what was going on and then he came back and put the plate in front of us with a panini on it. My friend asked if he'd modified the panini himself, and he said, "No, this is a new one, the other panini is in the bin".

We were a bit wary but we took it to our table and looked at it: it was EXACTLY THE SAME PANINI, with cheese and onion pickle, but with some bacon and mozzarella haphazardly stuffed into it.

Obviously we were very disappointed and we asked for a manager: he first hurriedly apologised saying he had something else to sort out and was going to be back "in 7 minutes", needless to say he didn't and after more than 10 minutes we went back to look for him and he came to us after and pushed the money in front of us with a rushed "sorry" which sounded anything but apologetic, and left quickly.

Yet again Yates has provided us with an APPALLING customer service, not much for the wrong order but more for the fact that the waiter lied to us and just wanted to dismiss us making us believe we had the food we wanted. We are not even sure that he didn't stuff the extra ingredients in the panini himself! The manager was rude and uncaring as well.

We will never go back to that Yates or any other; we have never had such a horrible customer service in any other place. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone – as well as he disgusting customer service, the night crowd is made of mostly chavs and lonely weirdos who like to go in as they get in free and can just look at scantily clad women who lack taste in clubs as well as in fashion.
Definitely AVOID IT. The food might be cheap with not of good quality, the drinks are more or less normal price and in any case I’d rather spend 1 pound more but have my drink in a nice plac
