Reviews of The Lantern Theatre (18 Kenwood Park Road, Sheffield)

2. A Graham, Sheffield – 27 February 2011, 1:21pm4 starsThe Lantern TheatreReport

Simon Fay - that is hardly a review! There is a sign at the entrance to the theatre and a lit sign on the main corner! And how can the state of the roads and your lack of map reading skills be attributed to the theatre?!?

So a proper review then. Our first visit to the Lantern this February and we saw A Taste of Pinter by it's own group, the DGP. All I can say is wow! This was a selection of short Harold Pinter sketches and the quality of the acting was outstanding. The theatre is only small, but really full of character and the the staff all very friendly and pretty cheap drinks!. I'm looking forward to going back and am hoping all the shows are of the same standard as A Taste of Pinter. Brilliant!

If you're not local make sure your sat-nav is working: the locality is a charming labyrinth with little signage and narrow winding roads badly in need of re-surfacing. I gave up in the end.
