500 Club
A three-storey bar below a block of modern flats, the 500 Club, the largest of the sleek new establishments challenging traditional pubs in this part of the West End, seems to suck drinkers in from Byres Road. Despite its size, seats are at a premium on the clean, angular black, glass and chrome styled ground floor, usually only to be seen under the young, hip, largely post-student clientele. Pool is a big feature, with a table in the function room downstairs and three among the more spacious booths on the top floor.
