Perhaps the finest example of an 18th-century Palladian country house in Britain, Paxton House rests on the banks of the River Tweed, four miles from Berwick. It holds regular exhibitions of paintings, as well as special events such as wildlife walks, children’s concerts and vintage car rallies.
