It seems a huge shame that the club no longer chooses to incorporate the name of the fine messauge which stands as flagship to this old and royal club, viz. 'Fort William.' especially in consideration of the origin of the name, which I believe to have been that of the last ship of which the builder of the early, Victorian villa was master.

We were all very proud, over fifty years ago, when the terms of the late David C. Thomson's Will revealed the generousity of this great man, in making such a fine building available to the club, at such small cost.

Just a thought, but one worth consideration, methinks.
