The following information has been provided by the restaurant.

A trendy & popular mixed bar with friendly staff. By day the glass front makes it an ideal place to relax with a coffee & people watch, whilst at night it attracts a livelier crowd with a buzzing atmosphere.

The Street is a venue over two floors, for eating, drinking & dancing with outdoor heated smoking areas on both levels. We are open until 1am daily. Full menu is served until 9pm & snacks are available until midnight Sunday to Thursday. We serve a premium selection of beers, wines & spirits, plus an extensive cocktail list. Drink promos are available.

A hectic schedule of entertainment ensues every week. On Wednesdays The Pub Quiz rules at 9pm with prizes ranging from a bundle of cash to remote control helicopters. Thursday nights is "Quality Street" with DJs Honky Tonk & Monkey Baz playing every flavour in the box. Then there's dancing in The Street every Friday with DJ Trendy Wendy & Saturdays bring a selection of Edinburgh's finest pre-club parties & Djs. Downstairs area is available for private hire subject to availability.

Visited based on the list review and the fact it I have a List card!

Nice surroundings and tasty food served with the best garlic mayo ever.

2 main meals, 3 soft drinks and just over £14 - Bargainous.
We'll be back for more of that - as noone marked off my card say I'd been - Result!

Massive amount of drinks to choose from my favourite being your domestic Scottish beers - Edinburgh Gold and Holyrood.
You guys are up there in my good memories to take back home.

Hi Guys,
just like to thank you and all your wonderful staff for an excellent weekend.
We were up for the weekend and happened across you by chance in the afternoon when we got lost and couldn't find our Hotel which your staff sorted out for us in seconds ( even phoned a taxi for us ).
We came back in on Friday evening and were remembered ! we had dinner some drinks then a good old dance in your club downstairs.
So good we came back on Saturday and had the best time, D.J's on both nights were brilliant, first class.
Atmosphere was amazing as were the cocktails and skittle bombs . . . . .
We will definetley come back and will not hesitate in recommending you to our friends.

I started going to the street regularly in september and i seemed to always get excellent customer service off one younger lad, had redish hair and was very pleasant to talk to, unlike some of the other staff in there. I had once asked a tall dark haired younger looking lad aswell where the toilets were and was stubbornly grunted at and told "down there"

I have never in my life been treated so badly before, i went in on a sunday morning and it was the younger lad with the redish hair and a lady with red hair aswell who were working and the lad could not help me more! Every detail of my food and drinks order was taken care of, he did not fault at all and kept a smile on his face even though the manager or whoever it was kept firing orders everywhere! I have since stopped going to the street as the young lad with the red ish hair does not seem to work their anymore, not that i have anything in for him its just a plain fact that i liked to go in here when he was serving as he seemed to keep his customers very satisfied and happy.

Its a shame i wont be back as the layout and decor is lovely but the staffing (especially the managers) and mostly rude and cant be bothered with you.

Having visited the bar twice, I do not recommend "The Street". Both times, I have been treated in a disrespectful manner. During my most recent visit, I ordered a round of drinks for me and my colleagues. I was one pound short from the full amount. As the downstairs bar did not accept credit cards (another consideration to take into account when planning your night out), I was forced to walk outside the bar (in the rain and snow) to retrieve money from an ATM. Before I left, I politely asked the bartender to hold off making my drinks until I paid her. However, she ignored my request (which she undoubtedly heard and understood) and placed the drinks on the counter where anyone (other than myself or my friends) could collect them. When I returned, I paid her and asked for my drinks. She claimed that I had taken them with me, which I certainly had not done, as I had physically left the bar. Keep in mind that the bar does not allow glass cups or indeed drinks to exit. When I explained this to her (once again politely), she refused to listen, interrupting me to call me a "liar" and "possible thief". As a professional, I was appalled and humiliated by her comments. I was not concerned about the money, but rather the way in which the employee acted. She didn't even allow me the opportunity to explain what could have happened (that strangers could have taken the drinks she ignorantly left out on the counter). Knowing when to pick my battles, I paid the amount in full (without any drinks in hand) and provided her with a generous tip. She then had the audacity to ask, "What's this for?" I was just trying to be gracious after an awkward and uncomfortable conversation (during which she called me a liar). I then asked how my friends and I could acquire free tickets to GHQ which the bar provides to all customers a few minutes before midnight. With hostility, she responded (verbatim), "Listen to the bartender, she knows what she is talking about and be nicer". She purposely said it loud enough for my colleagues and friends to hear, embarrassing me further. I immediately left, as did my friends. We do not plan to ever return. In sum, I found the staff at "The Street" to be unpleasant and extremely unprofessional. It is therefore not the best way to either begin or end what should be "a fun night out".
