After the disappointing 'Bride and Prejudice', writer/director Chadha takes a step into younger territory with this adaptation of two of Louise Rennison's books. The film lacks the sharp wit of slick American comedies such as 'Clueless' and 'Mean Girls', but earns points for featuring actresses, including lead Groome, who really are the age of the characters they're playing.

Guillermo del Toro returns to Hollywood with a second blockbuster adaptation of Dark Horse Comics' cult supernatural title. A new storyline pits the hell-spawned hero against a mighty mechanised legion of unstoppable warriors. The sequel has more of everything ? monsters, action, humour, character development, supporting cast and mythology ? but it suffers from an overabundance of riches.

Depressingly faithful film adaptation of abominable Broadway and West End ABBA song musical mega hit. The popularity of films like this certainly make one wonder about the rampancy of mental illness in our culture.

Inspired by sci-fi classics from the 1960s and 70s, Pixar have created a post-apocalyptic story set in a future in which the Earth has been abandoned by humankind, where a solitary robot named WALL-E executes his now pointless trash collecting programme. At its heart this is a very sweet romantic comedy, and that's what provides the emotional clout.

This vacuous rehash of teen movie clichés presents Californian brat Poppy, a foul-mouthed and obnoxious Malibu-mite who is shipped off to a posh boarding school in England in the hope that she learn that values and price-tags are not the same thing. Another dog-eared slice of Working Title crapola aimed squarely at the dumbest of US teens.

You Don't Mess With the Zohan
