The Kinneil Estate, south-west of Bo’ness, contains remnants of a Roman fort that guarded the Antonine Wall, as well as artefacts from the intervening centuries. The house itself contains a small but packed museum, as well as some of the most extensive and best preserved wall and ceiling paintings in Scotland.
