The hillside gardens surrounding Inveresk Lodge, just south of Musselburgh, are composed of a series of ‘garden rooms’, each with its own season and theme. Among the main features are a croquet court, a woodland walk, a Victorian conservatory, an aviary and a meadow pond. Open all year round, this terraced garden uses displays of colourful herbaceous beds, shrubs and roses to illustrate methods that can be used in a domestic garden. NOV-MAR, Mon-Fri 10am-4.30pm, Sun 2pm-5pm.

Beautiful gardens, so tranquil, but sad to see the signs of neglect 5ft high thistles in the flower borders, and ponds choked with weed. Hope this is addressed soon before it is too late!
