We booked a party of 60 for our office Christmas party and were disappointed by the attitude of the staff (who looked to be a little in-experienced) and the actual meal offered. Quite a lot of the meals were left unfinished, with the beef being particularly in-edible. Once the party started to be enjoyable the staff insisted on posting a door staff member at the bar - even though we were a private function - who proceeded to spent the remainder of the evening glowering at us for partying. I would suggest going to another venue for your office do - there is a strong possibility you may feel let down by this one. Also - the bar prices were extortionate (£5.15 for a vodka & orange juice!) and differed a lot depending on who served you.

Tried to attend a specialist whisky tasting here organised by a local tour company. However, despite the tour agent having an email to confirm permission for a local whisky specialist to bring in 3 bottles of malt, the manager and staff on duty refused permission on the night. This also despite a party of 12 plus tour guide eating a 2-course meal and buying drinks in the pub.
Fortunately, the whisky guy managed to arrange for us to relocate after the meal to another more welcoming local pub.
Won't be back here.

Friend and I popped in for a "quick lunch" and ended up stuffing our faces! Hot cheese platter was a baked camembert with baguette and onion dippy thingy! Yummy. Friend had "citysampler" which turned out to be lots of eveything! Sausages, potato wedges onion rings etc! We demolished the lot. Service was quick and friendly. Really handy and tasty local place to eat. Going back soon.
