The 2013 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).
This review is taken from the current (2013) edition.
There is a buzz of excited pleasure as you enter this artfully designed retro dining room; lacy tablecloths, mismatched flowery cups, saucers and teapots provide the setting for groups of friends quaffing fizzy wine and feasting on cakes and sandwiches for afternoon tea. Also on offer are vast 'high teas' of the traditional kind with tea, bread and butter, a main such as fish and chips, and a choice of cakes to follow. This could be the quirkiest place in Glasgow for a pre-theatre meal – go early, high tea starts at 5, before strolling down to a nearby venue. There are also increasingly popular function suites catering to the baby shower and hen party crowd as well as a popular lunchtime menu with tempting gourmet open sandwiches such as Dunsyre Blue, fig and rocket. This is indeed a tearoom with flair and a commendable number of gluten-free options.
