Hi Mick, Youre mate is at rest in Foveran burial ground along the A975 just before the church? His younger brother Perry is a Paramedic in Grampian.

Gordon barracks, Finished my basic training at Bridge Of Don in 1970 we were the last squad of Highlanders to be trained by Highlanders, when training was tough, (Bagdad Squad) Sgt Bruce Reoich Gordon Hldrs good man took no prisoners, I returned as an instructor in 1976 for 2 years, best two years of my life, My two fellow instructors Jimmy Meiklejohn Q.O.Hldrs and Aurther Thomas 1.B.W. Both Good men are now in that Great Barracks in the sky,
I have many bad memories but none of my time at Gordon Barracks.
I have not left my I.D. for obvious reasons, but I was the tall good looking one with the Red Hackle.

I was based at Gordon Barracks with the first batt Black Watch in 1969 as a boy soldier of 15. I was medically discharched in 72 and lost touch with a couple of good buddies, who went off to their regiments. My best mate was A.C.HARPER, better known as Paddy to his mates. Paddy was in the Gordon Highlanders, and i have just found out recently that he was killed in Ireland while on duty on the 8th August 1972,( RTA ). Paddy, i believe came from up north near Banff or near abouts. Tall, 6ft 1ins and heavy set. I would love to pay my respects to my old mate, if i only knew where to start looking, can anyone help me in my quest.
