This review is taken from the 2010 edition.
A comprehensive website and direct online ordering, as well as weekday lunchtime opening, marks Gili Gulu as a sharp, well-run operation. Lying in a prime position for students, the interior is clean and bright and the service prompt. An extensive menu offers a selection of European dishes as well as Japanese ramen and udon noodle dishes. Among the appetisers are sensibly priced combos for two or more people (£3.50 per head) and there is also a good array of dim sum and soup on offer. Mains follow convention, and you can have your choice of meat in almost any sauce on the menu. Vegetarians are catered for, but the dishes are limited in number and lack the creativity of the more meat-based choices.
