With a vibrant New York City street scene overlooking a simple but comfortable dining space, Hamburger Heaven aims to bring a little bit of Manhattan to Broughton Street – and largely succeeds, thanks to its buzzy, informal vibe. Though it shares a kitchen (and loos) with parent venue the Blue Moon Café, burgers and American diner staples are the order of the day, with corn on the cob and lip-tinglingly spicy chicken wings accompanied by barbeque sauce making fine starters. However, the main draw is the appealing selection of burgers, such as the intriguing Bloody Manhattan (a beef patty smothered in home-made Bloody Mary sauce) and the Staten Island, made from spiced lamb combined with mango chutney and wilted spinach. The Classic NYC beef burger smothered in fried onions is robust, peppery and almost obscenely meaty, and the Times Square – tender Cajun chicken breast topped with fluffy onion rings and oozing Swiss cheese – is very good. An average ice-cream sundae feels like something of a let-down afterwards, but not to worry – fittingly, burgers are where Hamburger Heaven really shines.
- High point: Hamburger heaven
- Low point: Less-than-divine desserts

Went to Hamburger Heaven about 6 months ago (sorry, catching up on reviews!). A place for which my and my partner's views completely differ.
We were both starving - went straight for burgers.
My partner really liked the food.
I was not impressed. In my view this was below my typical bottom line (i.e. "I could have made this tastier at home"). I did not even finish mine! The burger was overcooked, and the whole assembly was tasteless and dry.
I have refused to go back here as well as to the Blue Moon behind the corner (which apparently is served from the same kitchen) as my dinner was so bad. I have given two stars instead of one as the staff was friendly so things could have been worse I suppose..
