This cheerful, split-level café is tucked in beside office buildings and buzzes at lunchtime. Family-run, it serves up colourful well seasoned salads and soups at a fast pace and reasonable price. The speed of service means there is plenty of time to have a sit-down meal in an average work lunch hour. Hot food includes pizzas and daily pasta specials chalked up on a board. Cooked dishes have been prepared in advance from the owner’s main restaurant, Locanda De Gusti, and brought daily to the bistro but it’s the bruschetta and cold dishes prepared on site that really stand out. The bistro does a brisk trade in takeaways, from breakfast rolls and coffees to ciabattas and cakes. If work isn’t calling, it’s a friendly place to hang out and maybe enjoy an afternoon beer.
