This review is taken from the 2011 edition.
The definitive Ayrshire golf resort with its wonderful views of firth and fairway, a meal ticket here is a heady, opulent passage to another era of dining and high living. The name of the restaurant refers to the year the resort opened, and its menu takes inspiration from the legendary French chef of that time, Georges Escoffier. High end cuts of local meat and choice west coast seafood is given the classical treatment, with dishes such as consommé Monaco and supreme of salmon Mercedes. Appealing features include a daily plat du jour and a chef's table overseen by head chef Justin Galea.
