The 2011/12 edition of The List's Eating & Drinking Guide is out now – only £5.95 (+p&p).
This review is taken from the 2010 edition.
With its shopping mall location, and concurrent lack of atmosphere, Brewhaha needs to deliver on its food and drink, and it only partially succeeds. An impressive range of quality Brewhaha teas includes Oolong, Russian Caravan, Indian style chai, and three varieties of white tea - a delicate, sweet brew which is well worth a detour. Meanwhile a good choice of herbal and fruit infusions, green teas, 'super teas' (try the 'detoxifying' or 'anti-ageing' blends) and an excellent lemon drizzle cake offer enticing pick-me-ups to wearied shoppers. Elsewhere, salads and sandwiches offer little variety or imagination, and the afternoon tea at £8.50 is fine but some way short of exquisite. The quick turnover (mostly of students and the elderly) is no doubt largely responsible for the somewhat scruffy appearance of its otherwise cheerful interior. Basic breakfasts are available until 11 am.
- High point: Impressive range of quality teas
- Low point: Needs a good clean
