Just returned from a lovely visit to Yann's at Glenearn House. The surroundings and ambiance are that of a top city restaurant, with fantastic attention to detail. After perusing the delicious sounding menu and interesting wine list, we asked if we could book a room in order to fully enjoy the anticipated delights ahead! Luckily a room was available and we set about ordering our feast! The service throughout was spot on, organised, friendly and nothing too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious. Scallops cooked to perfection, tender and sweet. The crab and gruyere tartlet was perfectly balanced and light as a feather as promised, apart from the flavour you would barely know you had eaten! We shared La pierrade. A fun and delectable feast. It was served with a beautifully dressed salad and mountain of chips, which we were assured would be replenished as we needed. It took a highly enjoyable mamoth effort to barely finish what we were given. Unfortunately though, this meant we could not sample the desserts! A double espresso served with a little stick of Valrhona chocolate and a brandy in the lounge by the log fire rounded of a wonderful meal. The room we had booked at the last minute was as tastefully appointed and comfortable as the rest of this Perthshire gem. As we had decided to stroll off our full tummies before bed, our unfinished bottle of wine and a bottle of water was waiting in our room on our return. After a very comfortable night, breakfast continued in the same vane as the previous evening. This was a classy but unpretentious experience. Prices are middle of the road and good value. I would not hesitate to recommend either the restaurant or hotel and Yann's is now right up there amongst my favourite eateries, with a return visit to be scheduled soon!

I have eaten twice recently at Yann's and have had a completely different experience from the other reviewer. The staff were fantastic and very well organised by Shari. Our steak was beautifully cooked. Yann's recently organised a family lunch for about 30 at very short notice for us. The food was wonderful as was the service. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Crieff.

Yann's at Glenearn HouseReport -
We arrived at Yann's to discover that depsite booking for 7:30pm we had to wait in a lounge area for over one hour for our table. The reservations system seemed chaotic with everyone seemingly setaed at the same time. Service at the table was not much better, with drinks taking 15+ minutes and the time between courses in excess of 20-25 minutes. The staff are clearly not very competent and the front-of-house management is non-existent. That would all have been bearable had the food been good, but unfortunately it too was a major disappointment. One of the signature dishes - tariflette - tasted as if it had been made with mass-produced liquid cheese - and the steak was very fatty. Very disappointing.
