Spicebox has much to offer. Run by the former manager and head chefs of Thai Me Up, the dishes are of high quality and prepared by knowledgeable staff. The Gang Ped Yang, a spicy red curry with duck, has wonderful heat and a creamy texture. The mixed starter includes fish-cakes, beer-battered prawns, chicken satay, pork ribs and spring rolls. Spicebox also offers 10% to 15% student discounts throughout the week and weekends. From Sunday to Thursday, credit-crunch meals are also offered: cheaply priced banquets for up to six people. Spicebox also puts on Thai-inspired food nights with Southside bars Aspen and the Maltings. Chef hire, party-planning and beautiful fruit carvings are also available from this enterprising takeaway.
- High point: Restaurant-quality food
- Low point: Busy telephone line
