Cafe Truva is one of my favourite cafes in Edinburgh and I highly recommend it. I've dined at the branch on the Royal Mile for lunch a number of times this year and I've always been impressed with the food and the friendly staff.
The location is excellent and I would highly encourage tourists and locals to visit and experience the delicious food.

I would thoroughly recommend this Cafe on the Royal Mile to everyone and anyone who may be looking for a laid-back eatery with both exceptional menu and staff!
Any time I have eaten at Cafe Truva I have been most impressed with the prompt service of the waiting staff and the quality of the food and drinks. The hot chocolate is to die for!
It is the perfect location for locals and tourists alike, to sit on the pavement seating and watch the world go by, whilst enjoying the delicious food on offer.

I went to Cafe Truva on Sat lunchtime during the festival. All started reletively well as our order was taken and we were told the food would atke 20 mins (the cafe was mad busy so this was fine).
Things started to go downhill from this point. Only one drinks order was brought to the table and after 10 mins we had to request the other order. The food came after 30 mins, but considering how busy they were we weren't to fazed by this.
However when my order came it was wrong - I ordered full breakfast with scrambled eggs and got fried instread. I mentioned this to the waitress and was told I would have to wait 20 for the correct order. I explained I was happy to have the rest of the meal and just have the eggs replaced. I was then told it would still take 20 mins as it wasn't the chefs fault that the waiter didn't pass on the correct order. Eventually they agreed to change my eggs.
They returned my plate (eventually) with another food item missing, I then requested the missing item and at the same time noticed a short black curly hair on some of my food. The waiter was informed and he took the offending item away.
Not once did I receive an apology for the continuing problems with my meal. Had they apologised I would not have felt the need to provide this review.
The staff do not have the first idea about good customer service and the presence of the hair in my food makes me question what goes on in the kitchen.
If I was able to rate this establishment in negative stars I would.
