First time visit on Sunday afternoon with family. Bistro is generally bright and airy but we were tabled in a dark alcove dispite booking in advance. We were then informed that there was an emergency in the kitchen although these things happen the way in which this was handled was unprofessional. In general we found most of the staff unprofessional and brash. The food was average. There was then banging from a neighbouring flat which continued throughout our main course. We were informed that this had happened before but not this extent. We were given a considerable discount which was a good gesture but the meal had already been spoiled and we will not be back.

God-awfull food, complacent staff and overpriced. The people in charge have brought down a great location.

3. Wee-Yin, Edinburgh – 14 January 2009, 11:47amReport

I have to say i disagree with the comments above, each time I have visited the Olive Branch in all locations I have never been disappointed in the food and think the staff are very friendly. I will continue to lunch and dinner there. Its the middle of town you should really expect noise from around. If you want a nice quiet meal theres lots of beautiful places out in the country side.
