Sitting in the dip of Blackhall's Queensferry Road, Golden Pond has gained a favourable reputation over the past 20 years with the locals in Edinburgh's West End. With a few surprises on the typically glossy takeaway and home delivery menu, you'll find the full range of Anglo-Cantonese dishes, most of which are at a consistently higher quality than your average city delivery joint. If the shredded beef in sweet chilli sauce requires a little more chewing than is ideal, the same can't be said of the beef with black bean sauce. The meat is soft and fresh and in a wonderful savoury sauce. Have that with some lemon chicken for the classic combination of sweet and savoury Chinese flavours.
