Nerala offers a good selection of pizzas, burgers and kebabs. But the real reason to seek out this Govanhill takeaway is the authentic – and great value – northwest Indian food. Dishes range from the familiar (dansak, korma, rogan josh) to rarely encountered fare such as dahi bhala – fried lentil dumplings served in yoghurt with cumin and tamarind chutney. The tandoori options are recommended and should be accompanied by one of the excellent breads. There is also a broad choice of tikka meat-oriented 'chef's specialities', as well as a few vegetarian options. The bewildering array of mithai (Indian sweets) is for many people the reason to stop by.
