This review is taken from the current (2011) edition.
A New York-style café and deli that feels like it’s been around for many years, Sonny and Vito’s adopts a reliable formula and renders it with consummate ease. Floor to ceiling shelves are crammed full of delectable looking jams, chutneys, biscuits and olive oils, in addition to an excellent range of Italian coffees and organic wines – setting the scene for an attractive interior, whose half a dozen or so wooden tables can fill up quickly. Superior sandwiches on organic bread include chorizo with rocket and mayonnaise, and Parma ham with gorgonzola and home-made pesto, while regularly changing daily specials, served with warm potatoes and a well-dressed green salad, might feature organic Spanish sausage roll or spinach, parmesan and pine nut tart. The pastry chef has skill in abundance, and the sweet choices, whether it be a moist Tunisian orange and chilli cake, or a rich almond tart, are equally well executed. Breakfast options, available until midday, are simple but appealing, none more so than warm waffles with banana, berries and maple syrup. One of Glasgow’s best cafés.
- High point: Excellent ingredients
- Low point: Sitting next to a noisy fridge

Proof, is the last bastion of truth.
I'm sure your partner ate many things that day. Can he/she identify the (£3) sausage roll as the culprit, I THINK NOT!!I frequent this establishment often and openly recommend it to others. It has a fantastic reputation for both taste and hygene.

Horrible experience xmas 2009. My partner bought a sausage roll (£3) day before xmas eve and was violently sick all that evening thus ruining the whole of xmas. I would never frequent this establishment and would NEVER recommend it to others
